Here are examples of areas of specialization:
- Low Back Pain with or without pain down the leg or numbness and tingling - Neck Pain from
a specific injury or pain that has just gotten worse over time - Headaches - Whiplash from a motor vehicle accident
or from a fall or sporting injury - Shoulder Pain from rotator cuff tears, strains, impingement, tendinitis,
bursistis, instability, or postural dysfunction - Knee Injuries including ligament strains, patello-femoral problems,
ITB friction syndromes, or tendinitises
- Post-Surgical Rehabilitation for backs, necks, shoulders, knees, ankles, and hips
- Foot and Ankle Pain from sprains, fractures or strains
Neck Pain / Whiplash
Neck pain can be caused by many factors including posture, trauma, degeneration and auto accidents affecting
the joints, discs and soft tissues of the neck region. Joint mobilization, manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, exercise,
modalities and neural mobilization are all techniques that I utilize to calm these symptoms down and allow you to regain your
ability to do the things you love. Special concern should be payed to neck pain which radiates into the arms or hands
causing shooting pain, numbness or tingling feelings or loss of strength with lifting or gripping. Make sure you make
an appointment to get things checked out if you are feeling any of these symptoms as they can be serious.
Shoulder Pain
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body which allows us to complete many activities but can
also cause increased strain and tension on the structures that support the shoulder. Primary problems can arise from
traumatic injuries or long term postural dysfunctions which can both lead to rotator cuff (muscles around the shoulder) tears
or strains, bursitises, or tears of the labrum. (cartilaginous ring around the socket). Often,, with early treatment, we can
help you to avoid surgery on the shoulder. If you do need surgery, rehabilitation on the rotator cuff muscles,
impingement, postural problems, or dislocations needs to address many different areas including the neck, thoracic spine,
acromioclavicular joint, sternoclavicular joint and glenohumeral joint as well as the first three ribs. Proper evaluation
and treatment developed to address the biomechanical dysfunctions is a must to avoid re-injury. I teach classes on the
evaluation and treatment of the shoulder and would love to work with you on your shoulder pain.

Headaches
If you are experiencing headaches, there are reasons that they are occurring and often techniques that can be utilized
to get you back on track. There are a number of different types of headaches; migraine, cluster, cervicogenic or tension
types. Utilizing manual therapy techniques and trigger point dry needling to the cervical region, upper neck and cranium,
we can often alleviate your pain and allow you to concentrate and live your life again.
Low Back Pain
Low back pain is one of the most common injuriess that people have and the most frequent referral to me. By utilizing
hands-on evaluation techniques, I will be able to evaluate what structure (disc, facet joint, muscle...) is causing your pain
and treat that pain with a combination of hands on techniques( including soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization and
manipulation, trigger point dry needling, muscle energy techniques), modalities (including, heat, ice, traction, electrical
stimulation or US), and exercise based on the latest research of dynamic stabilization and recruitment of the stabilization
muscles of the back. Don't let back pain side line you. Call to schedule an appointment to start your road to recovery
and improved health.
Knee Injuries
Colorado is an active community and knee injuries are quite common. Whether you injured your knee
in a sport, at work or in an accident, Coverly Physical Therapy is here to get you back on your feet and to your activity
as soon as possible. I have been through 4 knee surgeries including 2 ACL reconstructions, so I can empathize with how
you are feeling and know what works to get you back on track.
